Well, the response to “The cost of not” is “overwhelming”. (Since that is the theme I wanted to discuss today I just HAD to throw in that word.) People are commenting on their own personal “Cost of Not” every where I go. Overwhelm is one of the themes I’ve been hearing this week. Many clients are suffering from a sense of stress based on over commitment. I know my inherent response to “overwhelm” is to seclude myself. Living in a helpy-helper world takes it’s toll. As a healer, I must be on call for family, friends, clients, business associates, pets, and strangers! So the cost of NOT paying attention causes me to feel exhausted, and cranky. But I know how to remedy that. I hide. I turn off the phone (especially the work phone after business hours and on weekends.) I ignore family and friends. I get plenty of rest. I re-evaluate my personal goals and pay attention to factors like what I eat, drink, and getting some physical activity. I strive for balance in work, family, friends and ME. The cost of NOT…is extremely deteriorating! Find out more about the cost of NOT on Monday at 11:00 AM PST on Newstalk 1380. (or catch the blog post! -Dr. Vicky
