One of the blocks I have to blogging is choosing small bits of blog sized info to write. Especially when I’m writing about something I’m passionate about. Of course the power of the brain is one of those things I’m passionate about. Well, today might be a long one! It is actually “The Tale of Two Speakers.”
The First Speaker let’s call him oh, I don’t know, how about Maurice. Let’s for fun, give him a Sicilian accent. His presentation went like this: He had an audience-appropriate topic. He was well trained and skilled. (Yes, Neuro-Linguistics were used skillfully.) He gave from the heart a motivating and entertaining speach. He anchored enthusiasm, energy, and general well being onto the entire audience. He gave structure and content in his speach. He offered a special on his services. Good job. Well done! And I’m happy to be a member of the audience.
Now, speaker number 2. Let her remain nameless. (I’m not THAT bitchy!) She had an audience appropriate topic. She was well trained and skilled. (She claimed 5 years “with” Tony Robins – red flag.) She gave her qualifications in Neuro Linguistic Programming. She gave a cheerful (although sometimes it hit sarcastic and other times whiny tone.) She gave the desired audience structure and content. The what happened next was the “killer”. She anchored the fear on the entire audience one by one (except me – I was on to the plan) to a simple daily item, the dollar bill. AND she told us she was going to do it! (Remember the words “pump up the fear?”) AND she also anchored that fear directly onto several people individually in the audience. (If you were there and don’t know if it was you, then contact me and we’ll undo that!) THEN she proposed the only solution to releasing the fear as herself! Then offered sales specials. (Ick I felt slimed!)
Now you choose who to follow.
That’s the power of the brain. (A bit of a rant, I might add!)
