Doing what you hate can kill you…

Or at the very least, make you wish you were dead.

I know. I used to live it.

Back in the 90’s I was entrenched in sales and miserable. Not so much because of the sales itself (I actually like that) but because I was driving 1,000 miles a week (yes, a WEEK) and fighting L.A. traffic all the way. I suffered from headaches that were so bad, I had to have an MRI to make sure I didn’t have a brain tumor. I’d come home at night, take a narcotic, lay in the dark and think, “Somebody, please kill me.”

Thank God those days are gone.

Now, I’m living my passion, which is a health care provider dedicated to helping people regain their health, naturally, and that makes all the difference in the world! I love going to work, I love learning more about my craft, I love the challenge that presents when a particularly tough case comes in, and I’m heartbroken by the countless lives ruined by a system that forgets that the body is a whole, and must be treated as a whole.

If you don’t love your work, do you understand the toll it takes on your health? Do you realize that the stress hormones secreted cause you to age faster? At a cellular level, they disrupt your cells ability to regenerate healthily (this explains why Presidents age so fast during office, by the way). Your chemical system is so busy trying to deal with your stress that it makes the rest of you sluggish. Heart attacks without warning are most common in men between the ages of 35-50. Stress accounts for much of that!

On Monday, I have a guest host, Tammy Burnell in the studio with me. Tammy is a life and business coach and specializes in helping you find your passion and make a living at it. I’m excited to talk with her, and think you will be, too. Join us Monday at 11 am on AM1380 or www.Newstalk1380.com.

The information is free, but the effect it could have on your life is priceless. Mark your calendars!

Superfoods for Super Health!

Super foods …hmmmm.

Hmmmm is the term I write when I need to think a bit more about something.  Well, our next show is Monday at 11, and I realized even with all the hype about “super foods”, I really am not too sure what qualifies as a  super food.  Here’s my best guess:  has more nutrition than most foods, is a “real” (meaning not processed) food, and is easy to prepare and consume.  So for me that would be bananas, broccoli, carrots, eggs, and berries….what do you think?~Dr. Vicky

Superfoods #1

What’s a superfood?  Everywhere you turn, you see books, news reports, magazine articles, and people “selling” superfoods.  On our next show, we’re going to talk about our favorite superfoods, how to find them, and how we incorporate them into our.  We hope to have a couple of guests who will talk about their favorite superfoods and what makes them “super”.  ~Dr. Vicky
