Raising Healthy Kids

I’m so exited!  I just got the commitment from Joy Harmon Prouty of Wildflowers Photos to be our guest on the show Monday, May 17th.  Joy is an amazing family photographer who has managed to expand a hobby she loved into an incredible photography business, while raising two happy, healthy babies.   She has been featured twice (that I know of) on Entertainment Tonight, and often does those adorable baby photos for Hollywood famous folks.  You can view some of her work on her blog at http://www.wildflowersphotos.com. We’ll be interviewing her on how she balances her growing career and her family. – Dr. Vicky

The Sex show is uploaded! Next week, raising healthy kids…

OK, we had fun in the studio today! You can listen to the show by going here.  Let’s Talk About Sex, Baby!

Next week we’ll be talking about raising healthy kids… starting with a healthy pregnancy and through the childhood diseases.

We have special guests lined up: one of them is a mom who has helped her son recover from Autism (that is an AMAZING story) and the other is a mom who is a professional photographer and has done an amazing jog juggling work and family.

See you next week!

30 Minutes till “Let’s Talk About Sex, Baby!”

If you’re not local, listen online at www.Newstalk1380.com and you can always download the show later today here.

So what’s going to follow today’s show? Well, next week we start a 2 part series on raising healthy kids. 🙂  You knew kids had to follow the sex show, right?

The first week (May 17) we’ll be talking about how to have the healthiest pregnancy and what you can do during pregnancy to set your baby up for the best health possible. We’ll talk about having healthy infants, to vaccinate or not, and childhood diseases like asthma, ear infections, and colds and flus. We will also delve a little into Autism, and one of our special guests next week is a mom who committed to recovering her son from Autism. She did it! He is now in a normal first grade class doing normal first grade work, and you’ll hear her story of how they accomplished that.

The following week, we’ll talk about raising healthy teens…

Have any questions on any of these topics? As usual, leave them here for us!

Like our new look? And then we’ll talk about sex, I promise! ;)

A huge shout out of thanks to Ernie, our go-to guy for technical questions. If you want help with any website-y, tech-y stuff, consider contacting him at www.livelifeindesign.com.

And now, let’s talk some more about sex. 🙂

Or more specifically, about not enough sex.

This comes up (no pun intended) a lot between the genders. Men want more of it. Women want less of it (until they hit their 40’s and then I think we want more of it again!). Why the huge disparity? Is it because of physiological factors? Emotional ones? Physical ones?

Like anything, your sexual drive has ebbs and flows. We’re used to seeing this on a monthly basis with women but men do actually go through it too, just not as frequently.

Add to that the crazy schedules we lead, and sometimes it just seems like there isn’t enough time for sex. Or we’ll do it… but from the female perspective, that load of laundry and dishes downstairs is just beyond the reaches of our perception… so if we seem like maybe we’re not as “into it” as you want, you might want to consider getting that stuff done for us!  😉

What questions do want us to talk about regarding frequency of sex? Leave a comment or a private message on Facebook and we’ll make sure to bring it up Monday. Remember we have 2 male guests on the show, so it won’t just be the woman’s point of view.

Listen online (using Internet Explorer, not Mozilla or Safari!) at www.Newstalk1380.com.

Have a fantastic weekend!
