Lest you all think that because I’m a grandmother, I don’t understand what raising kids is about today, I want to tell you what it’s really all about. Raising healthy happy kids is about and end result of them becoming healthy, happy adults. The best way for me to emphasize this is to share with you the words my son, Jeremy, wrote inside my Mothers day card. (Halmark should hire him!) Here goes:
Mom,
Thanks for kissing boo boos and wiping away tears.
Thanks for loving us, no matter what.
Thanks for daring to be my mom when you could have walked away and finished high school like the other “normal” girls.
Thanks for buying me s
Sweet Pickles and Disney story books, because reading has saved my life more than once and made it worth living.
Thanks for encouraging my empathy and love for all living things, because that has saved my soul more than once.
Thank you for my life.
Love you forever,
Jeremy
THAT, my friends is what raising happy, healthy kids is all about! ~Dr. Vicky
P.S. Thanks for teaching me about women and love, for without Wendy to remind me to buy and send your card, I would have probably forgotten to send it. I would have still felt this way, but you might not know. Wendy sends her love, too.

Wow, Vic, that is COOL.
I’ve always joked that if my kids grow up to be more liked than not, to do good in this world, and to need less therapy than I did, I was a good parent. 😉
It’s the toughest job in the world, and the most rewarding.
Love ya!
